FC Dallas has announced a last-minute signing today! The summer transfer window was very quiet for Dallas. They didn't lose Jesus Ferreira, which was somewhat surprising. Last night though, in the midst of the excitement of Lionel Messi and Inter Miami coming to Frisco this weekend, a transfer rumored involving FC Dallas dropped. This rumor wasn't about Asier Illaramendi joining Dallas, instead it was that homegrown midfielder Edwin Cerrillo was getting transferred to L.A Galaxy. Now, that move hasn't been officially announced yet but with Dallas announcing a new signing, it seems likely. Anyway, because of this rumor, fans began to wonder if and who Dallas would replace him with.
Asier Illarramendi joins Dallas as a free agent. He's spent his whole career in La Liga, coming up through Real Sociedad's youth system, and eventually playing for their first team. He spent a few seasons with Real Madrid. With Real Madrid, he won the 2014 Copa de Rey, 2014/2015 UFEA Super Cup, 2015 FIFA Club World Cup, and the 2013/2014 UEFA Champions League. In 2015, he returned to Real Sociedad, where he played until this year. (Asier Illarramendi - Wikipedia) (Asier Illarramendi - Titles & achievements | Transfermarkt)
