Early today, FC Dallas announced the signing of their 32nd homegrown player, right-back Collin Smith. In September of 2020, Smith had a break out game with NTSC that saw him score his first goal in USL-One, had a pass accuracy of 82%, and was named to the USL-One Team of the Week, Week 9. (https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2020/09/15/north-texas-sc-midfielder-collin-smith-named-usl1-team-week)

Collin Smith, like Bryan Reynolds before him, played primarily as a winger but since the start of the USL-One season, has played as a right-back.
As a converted right-back, Collin Smith has the potential to help add an attacking spark that was lost after the transfer of Bryan Reynolds. At 17 and being newly converted, it'll likely be a season or two before Smith can break out into the first team like Reynolds and Cannon before him.
