FC Dallas faced their hated playoff rivals the Seattle Sounders last night at Lumen Field in Seattle in a 1-1 draw. After conceding a goal late in the game, it looked as though Dallas would go home without a much needed point. The match went into extra time and just a minute into it was all Dallas needed to level the game and earn their second positive result on the road.

The Lineup-

Luchi Gonzalez made no changes in the starting eleven after their 2-1 win in Kansas City. Unfortunately the foursome of Jesus Ferreira, Paxton Pomykal, Szabolcs Schon, and newly named All-Star Ricardo Pepi were unable to get their names on the scoreboard.

At the moment this lineup seems to be Dallas' strongest eleven. The one change that may happen soon is swapping Matt Hedges in for Bressan. Hedges has missed most the season due to injury, leaving Bressan to cover from him. After a strong start to the season, Bressan's form has grown poor. His decision making has caused several issues in the backline. Once Hedges is fully fit, there's a lot expection to him start alongside Nkosi Tafari and help Tafari to lock down the defense.

The Goal Conceded-

At the 72nd minute, Seattle opened the scoring after winning a free kick. Dallas has done poorly on defending set pieces. So far they've allowed six goals from setpieces.(https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/2948/Statistics/USA-FC-Dallas) This stat also includes last night's game. Positioning and decision making has been their undoing. Last night the defense looked to be doing better in their marking, Seattle goal scorer, Freddy Montero was surrounded by three defenders. The box was full with Dallas players, trying to keep the cleansheet. Unfortunately Montero was able to get just enough height to his jump to tower over his markers and score off Joao Paulo's free kick.

Dallas' Goal-

As the minutes ticked on, it looked as though Dallas was destined for another loss on the road. The game went into four minutes of extra time. This gave Dallas just a little longer to try and at least salvage a point. Luchi had already subbed his four most dangerous attackers, leaving them with their second choice offense.

Andres Ricaurte crossed the ball into Seattle's box. Franco Jara attempted to head it into the goal but only managed to head it to the far right of the box. Before Seattle could reach the loose ball, Dallas centerback Tafari rushed to it and immediately played it across the face of the goal. Jara, in the middle of the crowded box, tapped it in to help Dallas earn their needed point.
