FC Dallas earned their first win of the 2023 season! After a disappointing 1-0 loss to Minnesota United in Frisco last week, Dallas faced the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy took the lead in the 35th minute after a goal scored by Dejan Joveljic (The first goal for the Galaxy of the 2023 season as their game last week had to be postponed). Dallas almost had to start the second half trailing behind the Galaxy. Just before halftime, Dallas tied it up with a goal from wonderkid Alan Velasco!

Edwin Cerrillo lobbed the ball into the Galaxy's half. Paul Arriola was able to muscle his defender away to get the ball and knock away into free space in the box. Velasco outran not one but two defenders to get to the ball and slot it into the bottom left of the goal!

Dallas went into the second half energized and in the 56th minute, scored again to take the lead. This time the goal came from Jesus Ferreira. Sebastian Lletget played in Velasco. Velasco crossed the ball to Arriola. Arriola knocked the ball towards Ferreira, who scored his first of the 2023 season (and winner of the game).

Ferreira scored once again in the 64th minute. Ema Twumasi ran the ball into Galaxy's half. He passed to Paxton Pomykal. Pomykal played the ball into open space in the Galaxy's box. Ferreira was able to collect it and his shot beat the Galaxy's goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.

FC Dallas' support group El Matador was LOUD and active during the game! In addition to watch how Nico Estevez and his players do this year, it's interesting to see how El Matador grows this season. Dallas hasn't been known for their fanbase but El Matador could change that.
