FC Dallas has had a busy week again! They played the Colorado Rapids last Saturday, winning 3-1, two of their players made the MLS Team of the Week, they announced the date of their first US Cup match since 2019, and finally one of their midfielders will be going on loan. Time to quick look at their week!

FC Dallas vs Colorado Rapids-

Dallas returned to Toyota Stadium last Saturday to face fellow Western Conference side the Colorado Rapids. Former player Michael Barrios helped the Rapids open the scoring in the 30th minute by assisting on a goal by Diego Rubio. The Rapids almost carried the lead into half-time, but a late goal from Brandon Servania put Dallas back into the game just before the second half. Alan Velasco earned his second assist of the season, who played a simple pass to Servania, who hammered it from a distance.

FC Dallas took the lead in the 50th minute after fullback Marco Farfan dribbled up the field and played in Jesus Ferreira, who was just outside the box. The assist is Farfan's first in MLS.

Ferreira scored his second of the night in the 89th minute, after receiving a pass from Servania, doubling Dallas' lead. The goal was Ferreira's 5th of the season, tying him in the Golden Boot race with Javier Hernandez of L.A Galaxy and Brandon Vazquez of FC Cincinnati.

The match ended 3-1, extending their unbeaten run to four games, and further cementing Toyota Stadium as a fortress once more. Servania earned Man of the Match honors, a bench spot on MLS Team of the Week, and his goal is nominee for Goal of the Week. Ferreira's two goal performance earned a starting spot on the MLS Team of the Week and made him a nominee for MLS Player of the Week.

U.S Open Cup-

Dallas will play their first U.S Open Cup match on Tuesday, April 19th. The game will played at Toyota Stadium at 7:30PM. They'll face FC Tulsa of the USL Championship league. Due to Covid, the U.S Open Cup was postponed for two years.

Nicky Hernandez Loan-

Midfielder Nicky Hernandez will be joining San Antonio FC for the 2022 season. Should Dallas need him, they can recall him at any time. They are a USL Championship side, a step above Dallas' own secondary team North Texas Soccer Club. The move will give Hernandez to grow his game more and hopefully prepare him to play in MLS next season. San Antonio will face MLS side Austin FC in the third round of the U.S Open Cup on April 20th.
