New Signing-

FC Dallas have officially announced the signing of Facundo Quignon. (https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2021/06/14/fc-dallas-signs-defensive-midfielder-facundo-quign-n)

Quignon had been rumored to be pursued by FC Dallas since early May, leaving few surprised to see the offical announcement yesterday.

Until his recent signing with Dallas, Quignon had spent his entire career in his homeland of Argentia. He began his professional career in 2014 with San Lorenzo after coming up through their academy. He spent time on loan with Newell's Old Boys from 2016 until 2017. His last club was Lanus where he played from 2018 until now.

Quignon is listed as a defensive midfielder, a position that Dallas has struggled with since the sudden departure of Thiago Santos prior to the 2021 season. Both Tanner Tessman and Bryan Acosta have played in that role but neither are natural defensive midfielders.

Quignon was shown to be training with his new teammates on FC Dallas' Twitter. It is currently unknown if he will be available for selection immediately or if Dallas will need to wait for the start of the international trade window next month. If he is unavailable until July, then his first possible appearance will be in their Fourth of July game against the Vancouver Whitecaps. If he's available immediately, then he could make his first appearance as early as this Saturday (06/19/2021) against Minnesota United at Toyota Stadium. Whenever he plays, it is expected that he'll replace Tessman in the starting lineup as a "6", giving Dallas a midfield trio of veterans with Andres Ricaurte and Acosta playing above him.

Bayern Munich in Frisco-

German club Bayern Munich is possibly in north Texas to finalize the signing of Dallas homegrown centerback Justin Che. Che has been speculated to be pursued permanently by Bayern since his loan early this year. (https://www.fcdallas.com/post/2021/02/12/fc-dallas-loans-homegrown-justin-che-fc-bayern-munich)

He returned to Dallas just a week ago. Due to a centerback shortage, Che looked like he could earn professional minutes as early as this coming Saturday and appeared to be a part of Luchi's plans for the rest of the season. The arrival of Bayern may change that, unless he is loaned back to the club.

Che does not seem to be the only Dallas player pursued by Bayern. As shown in the Tweet above, freelance writer Tom Bogert reported that Bayern are looking at other Dallas players as well. There are several who could be heading to Germany. Thomas Roberts, Dante Sealy, Tanner Tessman are just a few of the players that have been rumored to be pursued by European clubs.

FC Dallas will play against Minnesota United on 06/19/2021 at 7:30 in Toyota Stadium at Frisco, Texas.
